YOU Can Be A Hero To The Young People Of Your Store Or Company!

Make a KGEF "Piggyback" Scholarship a part of your community involvement...

2010 "Piggyback" Deadline November 17, 2009

You see them working in your store. Perhaps one of your employees is bragging about one of them and their report card. They stand out in your community and in their high school.

THEY WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE...

They are the young people currently working in your store while going to high school or they are the children and grandchildren of some of your valuable employees - they want to go to college and prepare for their future and ours. They've worked hard in high school and have the academic capability to go to college.

But then there's the problem of not having enough money for college that is dashing the college dreams of many of our brightest young people.

You can help a Kentucky young person achieve their college dream and also build the respect of your store in your community by funding a Kentucky Grocers Education Foundation (KGEF) college scholarship on behalf of your store or company.

Imagine yourself presenting a college scholarship in the name of your store or company to a local high school student during their spring honors and awards ceremonies.

Grocers, Supermarkets, Convenience Stores, and Supplier Partners Eligible to Participate!

The KGEF "Piggyback" scholarship program allows you the ability to fund a college scholarship in the name of your company or a special person in your life and leave all the administration of the selection process to an outside independent judging organization.

There is NO COST to you for the adminstration of your company college scholarship program except for funding of the actual scholarship value. All administration, including winner selection and college payment is handled by your KGA/KACS for you as a member of the association. We simply invoice you for the amount of your scholarship once the winner is announced.

As a KGA/KACS member, all you have to do is:

  • Determine the number and amount of scholarships you would like to award
  • Post the KGEF Scholarship Poster (provided by KGEF) in your store during the application period
  • Confirm the winner's eligibility upon selection by the judging agency

We handle all the applications and the manage the judging process from start to finish - you will not even see the applications thus keeping the process fair and free from controversy for you. It's simple and you have the opportunity to promote your scholarship as a benefit within your store and outside to your community.
