John P. Hackett
Career Path: 1972 – Entered Columbus KMA office as Price Analyst (after store management) 1978 – Assistant Grocery Merchandiser, 1982 – Grocery Merchandiser, Columbus KMA 1984 – Director of Merchandising – In 1990 John was named President of the Louisville Marketing Area for Kroger. In 2002 he became President of Kroger’s Mid South Division, which was formed by the merger of the John has served on the Louisville Economic Development Association, the Louisville Urban League as a Trustee, and the Metropolitan College Steering Committee. The Dare to Care Food Bank is of personal importance to Mr. Hackett and he serves on the organization’s Executive Board. Mr. Hackett’s efforts have resulted in millions of dollars in food and monetary donations for the organization in recent years. He has been especially involved with an annual golf outing that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Dare to Care Food Bank. John and his wife Kay have two children, John M. Hackett living in John holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from The Ohio State University. KGA/KACS members across the state honor John Hackett as the one of three inductees for 2006 into the Kentucky Grocers Hall of Fame. Click play to watch the film.
